More than 7 million Americans are living with a wound that won’t heal. To meet the needs of those whose wounds do not respond to conventional treatment, the Riverside Advanced Wound Care Center has implemented the Reapplix 3CPatch® System — a groundbreaking approach that accelerates healing for patients with chronic, complex wounds.
The Reapplix 3CPatch® system takes a personalized, patient-specific approach to wound care by creating a patch using the patient’s own blood. This advanced wound treatment can be prepared at the bedside in around 20 minutes: a small blood sample is processed to separate the immune cells, blood platelets and fibrin, all components which help the body promote tissue regeneration and healing.
“Chronic wounds can be disruptive to a patient's life, impacting mobility, independence and quality of life,” says Jason Garrison, M.D., Director of the Riverside Advanced Wound Care Center. “We are proud to offer this advanced modality to our patients, especially for those whose wounds may have exhausted other standard treatment options.”
The impact of the 3C patch is already evident in patient outcomes. Sandra Corsi, AGPCNP, at Riverside Advanced Wound Care Clinic, explains, “With 3C Patch, the patients are part of their wound healing process. Since bringing the system into our clinic, we’ve seen tremendous results in wound closure, allowing patients to regain their independence and resume activities with fewer complications.”
Having passed multiple rigorous clinical trials in Europe and earned U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval in 2021, the Reapplix 3CPatch® is recognized as a safe, effective solution for complex wounds. Riverside Health is proud to offer this technology as part of its commitment to cutting-edge, patient-centered care.
