Sandra and Malcolm VS cta
Sandra and Malcolm, passing on a legacy!

Happy Mother’s Day to this mom who is passing on a legacy of healing and helping!

Sandra White and her son Malcolm both work at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital. While Malcolm joined Riverside about five years ago, Sandra has been with this hospital for over 25 years!

She started as a Unit Secretary/CNA, then quickly transitioned to RN and currently works in Surgical Services and occasionally helps in the ICU. She says working here is in her blood, “I know there are plenty of opportunities to go work somewhere else, but this is my HOME. I am dedicated to my community. I show up every day because I know my community needs me.”

When you hear Sandra talk about her work, you can tell she takes the Riverside Care Difference to heart, “We have a much slower pace on the eastern shore and I love making healthcare accessible to everyone here. When I’m at the grocery store or out for a walk, I have patients approach me and thank me for the care I provide. When someone recognizes me out in public for the care I provided for them, that’s the most rewarding part of my job.”

She passed that same passion on to her son. Malcolm enjoys the work he does and greets everyone with a smile!

If you are interested in working with the amazing team at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital, Sandra says, “First and foremost, be a fan of teamwork. Those who value teamwork will thrive h

Courtney and Brittany VS cta
Courtney and Brittany, more than genetics!

Happy National Sisters Day! These sisters share more than genetics - they also both work at Riverside.

Michael and Michelle VS cta
Michael and Michelle Ryan, Dynamic duo!

Michelle, now a Registered Nurse at Riverside Regional Medical Center, started her Riverside career in 2008 as a CNA. After working in several different departments over the course of eight years, she made the transition to travel nursing for a bit before rejoining our team in 2020.

Michael, our Leadership Recruiter in Riverside Talent Acquisition, joined our team in 2021 as a therapy recruiter and has been committed to finding the right fit for team members ever since.
Hearing both of them talk about their dedication to our mission, it is no wonder they both found their way to Riverside!

Michelle explains that the most rewarding thing about her nursing career is improving patients quality of life: "A big part of my job as a GI nurse is educating on screening and prevention of colon cancer. And there are often moments that remind me why I chose this work, like when I identified a patient having a cardiac event in preop of endoscopy. I received a Heart Saver and Great Catch award for getting them to the ER in a timely manner. They were treated and sent home a few days later!"

Michael has something similar to say: "The culture at Riverside and the way that we take care of patients is unmatched. We do a great job of taking care of our patients and serving the community around us. Both my kids were born at Riverside and I feel a sense of pride when I say I work for Riverside."

We love having so many families and household connections in our workforce!

Thank you, Michael and Michelle, for sharing your story and all of the ways you care for our patients and team members.
