Riverside Shore Rehabilitation Center Earns 2016 Bronze National Quality Award

January 16, 2017

Riverside Shore Rehabilitation Center's dedication to its residents and to quality care has earned it the 2016 Bronze - Commitment to Quality Award from a national long-term care organization. The award is the first of three distinctions possible through the National Quality Award Program, presented by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL), the leading association for long-term and post-acute care. The award honors providers across the nation who have demonstrated their commitment to improving quality of care for seniors and persons with disabilities.

"It's an honor to be recognized for the hard work and quality care our team provides every day," said Jane Kellam, Director of Nursing at Riverside Shore Rehabilitation Center. "We are committed to providing high-quality, person-centered care to our residents and their families. We will never stop improving."

Implemented by AHCA/NCAL in 1996, the National Quality Award Program is centered on the core values and criteria of the Baldrige PeRiverside Foundationormance Excellence Program, which assists providers of long-term and post-acute care services in achieving their peRiverside Foundationormance excellence goals.

The program has three levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Providers begin the quality improvement process at the Bronze level, where they demonstrate their dedication to the peRiverside Foundationormance improvement process and demonstrate their success. Trained examiners determined that RSRC had successfully completed the first level requirements and awarded RSRC the Bronze - Commitment to Quality Award.

"I applaud the women and men of Riverside Shore Rehabilitation Center for their commitment to improving quality care," said the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Board of Overseers Chair Christine Boldt. "This award is the first step in a program that serves as an essential guide to peRiverside Foundationormance excellence."
