Williamsburg, VA –Riverside Health System is pleased to announce the expansion of the new independent living residence, Presidents Pavilion at Patriots Colony at Williamsburg –a three building complex featuring 60 new apartments.
"This is an exciting time for our residents and the community," said Patriots Colony Executive Director Mike Rowe.
Patriots Colony, a Riverside continuing care retirement community, caters its independent living residences to retired and former military officers, retired federal civil employees and their spouses. The gated community offers nursing, assisted, rehabilitation, and independent living care and is nestled on 90 acres near historic Williamsburg and surrounded by National Park Service property. Health services are provided through Riverside Health System in the Williamsburg region and its Regional Medical Center in Newport News.
Presidents Pavilion is the first phase of the multi-year expansion. The 60 new additions are comprised of three buildings, bringing the total independent living residences to 260 apartments and homes serving 400 residents.
"Each building is five stories tall with covered parking as the first story," Rowe said. "From first glance to the smallest detail, Presidents Pavilion will offer unparalleled standards of quality and convenience."
The three buildings in the Presidents Pavilion –named after Virginia's early leaders George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison –incorporate the traditional brick-accented exterior and blend seamlessly into Patriots Colony's traditional yet distinguished architecture and design Rowe said.
The designs of these new apartment homes come in a variety of sizes and floor plans named The Williamsburg, The Jamestown and The Yorktown. The three distinct apartment layouts range from 1,600 to 1,900 square feet.
Layout features include one and two bedroom options;spacious layouts with unobstructed views between kitchen, dining and great rooms;master suite with sprawling master bath, double vanity and walk-in closet;and in select floor plans, a second bedroom.
Additional amenities for residents of the Presidents Pavilion include full size kitchens, full size washer and dryers, patios and balconies, oversized windows, 24-hour emergency response system, and housekeeping.
James City County leaders are pleased to see this substantial private investment in expanding the housing opportunities for residents, said Board of Supervisors Chairman Michael J. Hipple.
"We're pleased to enhance the housing options for those who have served our nation and here in our community. Their career has been devoted to our country and here we devote our mission to them and their loved ones," Rowe said.
