Riverside Health has announced the selection of Dr. Patsy McNeil, MD, MBA, FACEP, as its new Chief Clinical Operations Officer and Executive Vice President. Dr. McNeil will join Riverside in December 2026 following a comprehensive national search that attracted an exceptional pool of physician executive candidates. The appointment supports Riverside’s focus on clinical excellence, operational integration and sustainable growth as the health system plans for its next chapter.
In this role, Dr. McNeil will provide executive leadership for Riverside's acute care division, Riverside Medical Group, clinical service lines, quality, information technology and medical education. She will work closely with leaders across the health system to further advance clinical integration, operational excellence, quality and patient experience.
Dr. McNeil currently serves as Executive Vice President and System Chief Medical Officer for Adventist HealthCare, where she provides leadership across hospitals, physician organizations, quality, safety and clinical operations. Throughout her career, she has led efforts to strengthen physician engagement, improve quality outcomes and support operational performance across complex healthcare organizations.

Dr. McNeil brings more than three decades of healthcare leadership experience. She earned her medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and an MBA with highest distinction from University College London. She is board certified in Emergency Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians.
