Riverside Health System congratulates Adria Vanhoozier, president, Riverside Doctors’ Hospital Williamsburg, for being named to the 2019 Top 40 Under 40 list by Inside Business. For 21 years, the Top 40 Under 40 list has honored young professionals across Hampton Roads who are successful in their careers and involved in the community.
Vanhoozier, 31, was among those recognized in the Oct. 7, 2019 special issue of Inside Business and honored at an awards ceremony on Oct. 8.
As president of Riverside Doctors’ Hospital Williamsburg, Vanhoozier leads a team of nearly 400 who provide quality health care for both residents and visitors. Her mission is to meet the health and medical needs of the local community while growing Riverside’s presence across the greater Williamsburg region.
She knows first-hand the critical importance of having high-quality health care available locally.
“Before coming to Riverside, I experienced the burden of having to travel a great distance for my father’s care during his battle with brain cancer,” said Vanhoozier. “I envision, and want to ensure, that my community is one where residents have the access to the health care they need close to home.”
In addition to being an accomplished health care leader, Vanhoozier is also very active in the community. She serves the boards of the City of Williamsburg’s Economic Development Authority, the Greater Williamsburg Chamber & Tourism Alliance Business Council, and the Olde Towne Medical and Dental Center, regional free clinic. She also co-leads Heart Safe Greater Williamsburg, an initiative to improve the out-of-hospital survival rate for cardiac events.
