Riverside Health and the Riverside Foundation are pleased to announce a $500,000 gift from TowneBank in support of Riverside Smithfield Hospital, which recently opened its doors to serve Isle of Wight County and surrounding communities. As of January 30, the hospital has already provided care to 116 admitted patients, performed 56 surgeries, delivered more than 1,900 imaging studies and welcomed over 1,100 patients into the emergency department for care—underscoring the critical need for high-quality, local access to inpatient and emergency services.

TowneBank’s $500,000 contribution, part of the bank’s $1 million commitment to Riverside Health, continues its long tradition of investing in the communities it serves through support of health, education and local partnerships. By supporting Riverside Smithfield Hospital, TowneBank is helping expand emergency, inpatient and specialty care for residents where they live and work.
In recognition of TowneBank’s generosity, the hospital’s Lobby and Waiting Areas have been named in the bank’s honor, creating a welcoming space for patients and families at the heart of the new facility.
