Newport News, VA – For the third consecutive year, Subaru of America, Inc. and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) spread love, hope and warmth to cancer patients and their families in communities across the country, including right here in Hampton Roads at the Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News.

Blankets and messages gathered for the Subaru Loves to Care initiative

As part of Subaru’s Loves to Care month in June, messages of hope for cancer patients were written by visitors to Subaru retailers. Those who wrote a message of hope at a Subaru retailer also received a reusable tote bag to help spread awareness of LLS and the automaker’s goal to provide hope and care, one gesture at a time.Materials collected Subaru Loves to Care initiative

On July 3, those messages, along with blankets, were delivered to the Riverside Cancer Care Center at Riverside Regional Medical Center to help keep patients warm as they continue their fight against cancer.

LLS has helped millions impacted by cancer throughout their almost 70-year history, funding breakthrough research to advance lifesaving treatments and cures, and providing support and advocacy for patients.

“But the fight against blood cancers cannot be won without supporters such as Subaru and their customers,” LLS and Subaru said in a joint statement. “Every voice, every action, every contribution is needed and valued. We are committed to working tirelessly until we find a cure.”
