The Riverside Middle Peninsula Cancer Center in Gloucester on the campus of Riverside Walter Reed Hospital hosted an open house and the Gloucester Chamber of Commerce's May Business After Hours Thursday, May 22. More than 50 members of the community - families, business leaders and media representatives - attended, as well as current and retired Riverside board members, physicians and team members. The evening consisted of touring the Radiation and Medical Oncology areas, showcasing the recently installed linear accelerator for radiation treatment and the Integrative Medicine team's comprehensive approach to patient care with integrated, evidence-based treatments for the whole person.
"Tonight we are here to truly celebrate cancer care on the middle peninsula," said Riverside Vice President and Administrator of Walter Reed Hospital, Megan Kleckner. "We take an integrated approach to cancer care. It's about the patient, how we treat the patient, the whole patient, and their families."
