Paula Hendricks is the new Sanders Assisted Living Director. She is excited about the opportunity to become part of the Sanders Senior Living family and would like to take a moment to introduce herself and share a little about who she is.
Paula is fifty-one years old and comes from Washington State, where she and her spouse lived for five years due to military orders. She has been in healthcare for over fifteen years and has spent eight of those as an Administrator. The entirety of her nursing career has been spent working in Assisted Living and Memory Care as a Certified Dementia Practitioner. She has always been passionate about working with seniors.
In her free time, Paula enjoys working out, walking, and hiking. She also enjoys traveling the world and experiencing different cultures.
She looks forward to learning about each family’s traditions, daily life, and culture, and is eager to share her own background and experiences as well.
Paula is grateful for the warm welcome into the community and is excited to meet everyone and begin this incredible journey together.

Crystal Calvert, LPTA, LNHA, is the Administrator at Sanders. Crystal has worked in the healthcare industry for 26 years, beginning her career at Riverside Regional in 1999 as a staffing coordinator.
She served numerous roles until she became a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant in 2008. After working as a clinician and director for over 10 years, crystal completed the Administrator in Training Program and became a licensed nursing home administrator at the Riverside West Point facility. In March of 2023, Crystal continued her career at Riverside Lifelong Health & Rehabilitation in Mathews, earning her Associate degree in Applied Science from the Medical Careers Institute and her Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration from ECPI University. Crystal and her husband have been married for 25 years and have one son who is 23. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, camping, and traveling.

Amber Brady is the Administrative Assistant for the entire Sanders campus. Amber is the first voice that most people hear when they call the Sanders Community, and she is often the first smiling face that they see when they walk through our doors. Amber helps keep the Sanders Community running smoothly by arranging transportation, keeping the administrative team organized, and so much more.
Amber joined Riverside in July 2021. Born and raised in Portsmouth, VA, Amber moved to Alabama in 2012 and lived there until 2020, moving back to the area to be closer to her family. She now lives with her family in Middlesex County and loves it. She has had a long career in the healthcare industry in many different areas, with Sanders being her first inpatient experience. She finds her job very rewarding and looks forward to being here every day. Outside of work, Amber enjoys spending time with her husband, Devin, and her four wonderful children. She also loves decorating, cooking, and baking.

Michael comes to us from Williamsburg. He has 35 years of experience in the food service industry. Twenty-one of those years has been as an executive chef and 13 as the Director of Dining for Senior Living. During his interviews with team members, leadership, and residents, Michael impressed everyone with his knowledge of regulations and procedures that paired well with his experience as a well-trained chef.
When Michael is not serving his residents or patrons, he enjoys playing his alto sax, teaching music to younger generations, and spending time with his two teenage daughters.

Martin Clebowicz is the Head Chef at Sanders, Active Senior Living by Riverside. Martin joined the Sanders team in January 2021. He has received training at the Culinary Institute of Virginia, holds an Associate of Applied Science in Culinary Arts, Baking and Pastry, and Culinary Arts and Applied Nutrition. Originally from East Hampton, CT, Chef Martin has been a Sous Chef at The Trellis in Williamsburg, the Pastry Chef at The Tides Inn in Irvington, a Baker at Blackbird Bakery in Williamsburg, the Cook at Blue Talon Bistro in Williamsburg, and so much more.
