Following the opening of Riverside Smithfield Hospital at the beginning of the year, Riverside Health is expanding access to specialized care in Smithfield with the addition of women’s health and neurosurgery services, further strengthening its commitment to meeting the evolving health care needs of Isle of Wight County and surrounding communities.
This expansion builds on the momentum of the new hospital opening and brings a broader range of women’s health services closer to home, including comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care focused on prevention, wellness and treatment across all stages of life. The new practice, Riverside Partners in Women's Health Smithfield will open on Friday, March 27, in the new Health Care Center Smithfield, located at 1200 Benns Church Blvd.
In addition, Riverside is expanding access to specialized neurological and spine care with the March 9th opening of the Riverside Hampton Roads Neurosurgical and Spine Specialists Smithfield office. The outpatient neurosurgical and spine practice is located in the Jamison Longford Medical Office Building on the campus of Riverside Smithfield Hospital. The new office provides local outpatient evaluation, consultation and follow-up care for patients requiring spine, brain or neurological surgery. When advanced procedures or hospital-based care are needed, patients will remain connected to Riverside’s integrated network of specialists and regional facilities, allowing them to begin care close to home while accessing the full resources of the health system.
