Newport News, Va. — It wasn't just a happy new year for Jiraiya Harris on Jan. 1, 2021. It was also a happy birth day for the sweet baby girl.
Jiraiya - 7 pounds, 8 ounces and 19 inches long - became the first baby born at a Riverside Health System hospital in 2021. She was welcomed into the world at 5:26 a.m. by parents Janisha Bartlett and Derrick Harris, Jr. at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News.
Riverside's labor and delivery units are located at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News and Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital on the Eastern Shore.
