Onancock, Va. - Riverside Shore Medical Center at Metompkin welcomes Eastern Shore-native Monica B. Layne, FNP, as its newest provider.

Layne, who is accepting new patients, earned both a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing from East Tennessee State University.

She is board-certified as a family nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Layne began her nursing career in 2003 as a registered nurse at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital, where she gained a decade of experience before becoming a nurse practitioner in 2014.

She enjoys working with patients in all stages of life, and has a particular interest in treating acute illnesses.

Her desire is to serve and help those in her community through holistic medical care, with a strong emphasis on patient education to promote wellness.

Originally from Virginia’s Eastern Shore, Layne lived in Oregon and Tennessee before returning home to the rural, coastal area she loves.

Riverside Shore Medical Center at Metompkin is located at 17385 Lankford Highway in Parksley.
