Today, Riverside Smithfield Hospital (RSH) has opened the hiring process for 180 frontline positions at the new 52-bed facility. The job openings cover virtually every department, including clinical areas such as the Emergency Room, Operating Room, Medical-Surgical, Intensive Care Unit, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit as well as environmental services positions. The list also covers laboratory, imaging, pharmacy and respiratory, occupational and physical therapy roles, as well as environmental services positions.
All candidates will be able to apply immediately for full-time, part-time and labor pool jobs. RSH hopes to fill this latest group of positions by October or November to allow for six to eight weeks of onboarding and training before its January 2026 opening.
“This is an incredibly important milestone in our process,” said Jessica Macalino, President of Riverside Smithfield Hospital. “These team members are going to be the real heart of what we do. They will be imperative to delivering high quality care and support to patients and their families.”
With guidance from a six-member Staffing Workgroup, RSH has followed a four-stage hiring process to assemble a team for the new 200,000-square-foot facility, located at a 27-acre site on Benn’s Grant Boulevard. The first two phases focused on selecting three top hospital leaders plus nine Director and Manager positions for various departments. Phase III then brought on Nurse Managers, Supervisors and Coordinators.
The final 12 positions to be posted, in September, will be in Food and Nutrition Services. That will ensure all team members are in place by December and ready for the January opening.
“We’re right on track,” Macalino said. “We’re excited to pull from what we’re confident will be a deep pool of skilled candidates to serve our new community of patients.”
