Gloucester, Va. – Riverside Cardiology Specialists in Gloucester recently welcomed Jennifer L. Retikis, FNP-BC, to the team. She is board-certified as a family nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
After receiving a practical nursing certificate from the Saint Vincent School of Practical Nursing in 2003, Retikis earned an associate degree in registered nursing from the Medical Careers Institute in 2010. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing, both from the Chamberlain College of Nursing.
Retikis spent the early part of her nursing career gaining diverse experience before discovering her passion for cardiology in 2014 at Langley Air Force Base Hospital, becoming the facility’s first registered nurse to perform stress testing independently. She fell in love with caring for cardiology patients and pursued the specialty as a nurse practitioner.
Retikis bases her medical practice on three philosophies: treat others as you want to be treated; you are never too old to learn; and take care of yourself because there is only one you.
As a military spouse for 20 years, Retikis has lived all over the world. She currently resides in Gloucester and enjoys reading and traveling in her free time. Retikis and her husband, John, now retired from the U.S. Air Force, have four grown children and four Miniature Schnauzers.
Riverside Cardiology Specialists – Gloucester is located on the campus of Riverside Walter Reed Hospital at 7544 Hospital Drive, Suite 202.
