Award-Winning Seminar Series Provides Valuable Education for Caregivers
Riverside Center for Excellence in Aging and Lifelong Health (CEALH) has announced the spring 2017 edition of its “Caring for You, Caring for Me” program, a weekly seminar series designed to help those engaged in caring for older adults. Registration is now open. Limited seats available.
The award-winning program of the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregiving was created for family members, professional caregivers and volunteer caregivers of older adults.
Hosted by Riverside CEALH experts, the spring 2017 series will be held on Tuesday afternoons from 4 to 6:15 p.m. for five weeks, from May 16 through June 13. Sessions will take place at Yorkminster Presbyterian Church at 6218 George Washington Memorial Highway (Rt. 17) in Yorktown, VA.
The cost of the entire program is $45 and includes refreshments and educational materials. For caregivers who need respite care or support for their loved one they are caring for so that they can attend this program, staff at CEALH can assist with connecting to resources.
Meeting a critical demand for elder caregiver education, the program has received a Best Practices Award from both the Southern Gerontological Society (2012) and the Commonwealth Council on Aging (2013).
