Accomack County Honors Retiring Dr. Stith

August 19, 2020

The Accomack County Board of Supervisors proclaimed June 27, 2018 to be “Dr. Drury Martin Stith Day” in Accomack County at their meeting on June 20.

Chairman Robert Crockett told the crowd that he was honored to present the proclamation celebrating Stith’s 43 years of service to the cancer patients of the Eastern Shore.

Beginning his Shore career in 1975, Stith was a tireless advocate for local cancer patients and was ultimately responsible for bringing radiation therapy to the Shore in a dedicated cancer center, a wing of which was named for him. In his remarks, Stith gave the kudos to the community for raising the funds to build the center and said that he had been blessed to serve the Shore community.
