Riverside Health System was recently honored with two GHXcellence Awards for supply chain excellence from Global Healthcare Exchange, LLC (GHX), including “U.S. Health Care Provider of the Year” in the Exchange’s small to medium category. Riverside was also recognized as one of the “Best 50” health care providers for supply chain excellence in 2018 – the fourth year in a row it earned the GHX honor for improving operational performance and driving down costs through supply chain automation.
GHXcellence Awards recognize those who are driving savings and efficiency for their organizations, their trading partners and the healthcare industry. Winners represent organizations and individuals that maximize supply chain performance through automation, efficiency and accuracy to drive out costs and improve patient care.
Riverside won “U.S. Health Care Provider of the Year” in GHX’s small to medium category, which recognizes the top performing provider with less than 500 beds.
“During the last decade, the health care industry has made tremendous progress using technology and data to modernize aging business processes and practices,” said Bruce Johnson, president and CEO, GHX. “The next step will be to unite the best in the industry in a singular effort to achieve cost savings and improve patient outcomes. This year’s GHXcellence Award winners represent the most innovative leaders and organizations in the industry, facing new challenges as an opportunity to shape the future business of health care. It’s an honor to recognize and reward their excellence in improving the cost/quality equation.”
In also being named to the “Best 50” list, Riverside was among more than 4,100 hospitals analyzed in the U.S. and Canada that are connected to the GHX electronic trading exchange.
It is the fourth year in a row that Riverside made the acclaimed Provider Best 50, which recognizes organizations with performance measurements in the top 50 throughout North America, based on key utilization and exception management metrics reflected in Provider Intelligence.
“Riverside works extremely hard to boost operational efficiency and performance at every turn, as it directly impacts the quality of care we deliver to patients,” said Bob Hornsby, system director, supply chain management, Riverside Health System. “Being recognized among the top health care systems in North America for these accomplishments is a tremendous honor for Riverside and underscores our commitment to continuous improvement.”
