Stress and anxiety amid the pandemic

Amended Visitation Policy

Updated as of July 5, 2022

Riverside values our patients’ families and loved ones and understand the role they play in the patient’s healing and overall well-being. Our visitation guidelines balance the needs of our patients, care partners and our team members. We have recently updated our visitation policy to include:

  • Virtual visits are available. Please call 757-827-1001 to schedule.
  • Visitation is limited to 2 loved ones.
  • Visitation must be scheduled in advance. Please call 757-827-1001 to schedule.
  • Visitation is limited to 45 minutes.
  • NO VISITATION for COVID-positive patients or patients being assessed for COVID.
  • Visitor may be screened at the time of entry. The screeners will log each visitor’s name, phone number, screening information, and room visited.
  • Visitors must wear a mask at all times, including in the visiting area room. Visitors should bring their own mask. If a visitor chooses not to wear a mask or not to comply with all visitation guidelines, they will be asked to leave immediately.
  • Visitor must comply with social distancing requirements.
  • Visitor must stay in the visitation area only. No visitors will be allowed to stand at the nurses’ desk or in the hallways, or travel in and out of the facility (out to smoke etc.).
  • All visitors must enter through the main entrance.

From Newport News/Williamsburg/Richmond:

  • Take I-64 East.
  • Take Exit 261B, Hampton Roads Center Parkway.
  • Take the Magruder Boulevard South (VA-134) exit.
  • Turn left on Hardy Cash Drive.
  • Turn right on Executive Drive.
  • Riverside Behavioral Health Center is on your left.

From Hampton/Norfolk:

  • Take I-64 West.
  • Take Exit 262B, Magruder Boulevard (VA-134).
  • Turn right on Hardy Cash Drive.
  • Turn right on Executive Drive.
  • Riverside Behavioral Health Center is on your left.
