Plastic Surgery

Blepharoplasty is also called an eyelid lift, and is one of the most common cosmetic procedures performed in the United States. Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure which removes fat, excess skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelid, to reduce puffiness below the eyes.

What can blepharoplasty do for me?

Eye surgery can decrease wrinkles formed around the eyelids, and correct drooping of the upper lids. This simple yet impactful procedure can make significant, natural looking improvements in the overall look of your face.

Who is a good candidate for blepharoplasty?

Patients must be in good health, have no active diseases or serious, pre-existing medical conditions. Most candidates for eyelid surgery are over the age of 35, although some may choose surgery earlier in life if drooping eyelids are a product of genetics rather than age.

What can I expect during blepharoplasty?

Depending on which area of the eyelid is specifically targeted, the surgical process for blepharoplasty will vary. Our surgeon will utilize precise positioning of the eyelid incisions, in order to prevent visible scars. Through these incisions, your surgeon is able to tighten delicate muscles, remove or reposition fat deposits, and remove excess skin for an overall refreshed, younger look. Sutures are used to close the incisions, and will be removed within five days.
