Therapists at Riverside have nearly unlimited opportunities to grow professionally. As an integrated health system, we offer a range of settings across the continuum, including acute care, skilled nursing/long-term care, outpatient and home health. This allows you to match your skills and preferences to your work, whether your specialty is in physical, occupational or speech therapy. Therapists who join the Riverside family benefit from supervisors and directors who are also therapists. These leaders understand your needs and challenges and value your role in planning and providing care. Many of them have been promoted within the health system, demonstrating the potential for career growth. Every year, about 40 percent of our open positions are filled by our own team members.

Strong physician relationships

Riverside therapists are encouraged to develop strong relationships with Riverside physicians. Our therapy team works with specialists including sports medicine, orthopedics, oncology, neurology, pain management and more. We partner with Riverside sports medicine physicians to provide medical coverage for the Lionsbridge Football Club in Newport News.

Professional development

Riverside offers Student Loan PayDown for full-time physical, occupational and speech therapists. This can help you pay down your debt faster, saving money and shaving years off the life of your loan. Eligibility may vary.

We encourage specialty certifications and continuing education, offering tuition assistance and providing access to hundreds of online CEU courses for full- and part-time therapists through MedBridge.
