Providing expertise within the hospitals and across our communities

Riverside’s infectious disease specialists also care for patients who have been admitted to the hospital through consults with other specialists. They play an important role in managing patients with infections, drug-resistant bacteria and other challenging conditions.

In addition to direct patient care, they also work closely with experts throughout the health system and region to prevent the spread of infection in care settings and the community. Their expertise is a critical component to Riverside’s ability to care for a new virus, such as a new variant of COVID-19 or monkeypox.
