Partial Hospitalization Program Provides Day Treatment for Adult Addiction
As part of the continuum of care for addiction treatment, Riverside Mental Health & Recovery Center (RMHRC) now offers a Partial Hospitalization Program, also known as PHP. This community-based approach provides day treatment and is conveniently located at RMHRC which creates a unique opportunity to ensure the support of an entire team of clinical professionals. In this way, patients can focus on sobriety and get better in a structured setting for optimal outcomes. RMHRC also offers hybrid and virtual options for addiction treatment for patients who qualify.
Through our comprehensive assessment process, we discuss individual needs and identify which steps to addiction recovery will work best for you. In all phases of care, we emphasize continuous progress, eventually stepping down to outpatient care. Our goal is your goal - to achieve success at every level to drive toward a healthy and sustainable recovery.
Clinical Excellence through Nationally Recognized Standards of Care
RBHC patients receive exceptional care through a range of treatment offerings across our comprehensive addiction medicine services – all based on nationally recognized American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) levels of care. As our patients go through the full admission assessment process, our Admission Coordinators work with each person to review individual needs, goals, other short-term recovery efforts and any barriers experienced so our team can recommend positive interventions.
We talk through your personal experiences to begin developing your individualized treatment plan. During the admission process, you can anticipate being asked questions such as, date of last use, frequency of use, recovery support, living situations and insights that will help determine your care. Our coordinator works with the RMHRC provider team to make the right clinical judgment call that defines the appropriate level of addiction recovery care, including detoxification, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and general outpatient services.
Understanding Riverside’s Partial Hospitalization Program
Riverside’s Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is an outpatient day treatment program, but in a hospital setting so our patients have access to an entire hospital-based system of care. Our PHP team includes:
- Addiction-specialized Licensed Therapists
- Admission Coordinators
- Art Therapists
- Case Managers
- Dietitians
- Peer Recovery Specialists
- Pharmacists
- Psychiatric Providers
- Recreation Therapists
RMHRC team members provide treatment and therapy services, as well as education and support. A general PHP care plan consists of 6 hours of daily treatment across 5 days each week, including a weekly provider visit with either a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or Doctor, weekly individual sessions, and group therapy time. Hybrid and virtual options are available for patients who qualify. Our patients feel at home in this structured setting and Riverside provides lunch for all PHP patients. Through our Program, patients learn new coping skills and how to use them away from the hospital setting as they continue to recover.
Just like any chronic medical condition, treatment plans and medications are carefully monitored and may need to be adjusted. Addiction clinical treatments and care plans are updated weekly, with patient input, and if any adjustments are needed, they are handled in real-time.
