The Purple Flower Program is a program of The Martha W. Goodson Center (formerly the Riverside Center for Excellence in Aging and Lifelong Health), where patients with memory care concerns have a purple forget-me-not flower image placed on their door or in their room.
The flower signifies to team members that the patient is living with memory loss and cognitive changes.
Our program focuses on building dementia awareness for those living with memory loss or brain changes and providing empathetic, caring support.
Team members have received training in person-centered dementia care to increase their sensitivity and understanding in working with patients experiencing memory loss and cognitive changes.
We also provide resources to support family caregivers and other care partners.
