Women and Infant Care

If you are having a planned Cesarean birth (C-section), your doctor will tell you what time to come to Riverside Regional Medical Center the day of your surgery. Your admission time will depend on the time of your planned surgery. Please check in at the main lobby on the scheduled day. Pre-operative testing needs to be completed within three days before scheduled arrivals.

You’ll have your baby in one of the two operating rooms dedicated to our obstetric surgeries. The Riverside Neonatalogists team routinely attends all Cesarean deliveries.

Preoperative Testing

You’ll need to have diagnostic tests performed within three days of your scheduled C-section. Please contact Central Scheduling at 757-989-8830 (option 2), so we can schedule your testing. Appointments are encouraged but not required. When you come for testing, please register at Admitting in Riverside Regional Medical Center's Tower lobby.
