Our Founding Story - A Journey Toward Remarkable
When the Newport News General and Non-Sectarian Hospital, Inc. was chartered in 1915, it's doubtful that the visionaries who guided its creation had any idea of what the future would hold.
Their focus was on one thing: providing the best possible health care for their community. It is this determination that gave birth to Riverside. Now, a century later, Riverside is a leading provider of comprehensive care in Southeastern Virginia. Our Founders would be proud of the journey they began over 100 years ago and find it quite remarkable.
Founder's Society
The Founder’s Society recognizes Riverside Health’s most dedicated supporters—those whose lifetime giving has reached $10,000 or more. This distinguished group of donors embodies a deep, sustained commitment to advancing compassionate health care across our region.
Founder’s Society members are celebrated for their lasting impact through meaningful recognition, including name listing in our Annual Report, the Gratitude Centers located at Riverside hospitals and on the donor boards outside of Riverside’s corporate offices, as well as invitations to exclusive Riverside events, reports and stories from around the health system and more.
