When the Newport News General and Non-Sectarian Hospital, Inc. was chartered in 1915, it's doubtful that the visionaries who guided its creation had any idea of what the future would hold.
Their focus was on one thing: providing the best possible health care for their community. It is this determination that gave birth to Riverside. Now, a century later, Riverside is a leading provider of comprehensive care in Southeastern Virginia. Our Founders would be proud of the journey they began over 100 years ago and find it quite remarkable.
Founder's Society
The Founder's Society at Riverside Health System is a recognition society that honors and celebrates the commitment of our donors. Founders are leaders and visionaries whose generous gifts are invested in providing the highest-quality health care to our communities.
Created by the Riverside Foundation, the Founder's Society is a caring, philanthropic group of friends and community leaders who share our mission to care for others as we would care for those we love.
