Transitional Year Residency Program prepares residents for entry into categorical residencies with a broad understanding of multiple disciplines.

The Transitional Residency provides a multi-disciplinary experience across many areas of medicine. Graduates enter specialties such as Dermatology, PM & R, Radiology and Radiation Oncology, and Anesthesia.

Transitional Year Residency Program

Our Transitional Year Residency is fully accredited by the ACGME for 12 positions. The core requirements consist of seven months of fundamental clinical skills rotations in Internal Medicine, Ambulatory Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Pediatric Emergency Medicine, and a Selective choice.

Trauma Simulation

Riverside Simulation Training Lab

The Simulation Lab encompasses 4 dedicated clinical areas including a Medical/Surgical/Intensive Care Ward, Labor & Delivery Room, Emergency Medicine/Trauma Bay, and a Procedural Skills Suite. The Lab utilizes various simulation modalities and an integrated Audio-Visual learning management system with debriefing capabilities to provide a robust and relevant educational experience.

All applications to our residency program must be submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). We utilize the National Residency Match Program (NRMP) to rank all applicants. We cannot accept applications via email or fax and are unable to respond to any applications outside of ERAS.
