Richard Slama, M.D.
Program Director
Dr. Slama is a board-certified emergency physician and fellowship-trained in Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasound through the Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship Accreditation Council (EUFAC). He earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine and completed his residency training in Emergency Medicine at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. He subsequently completed an Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Fellowship at Riverside Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Slama’s academic and research interests include point-of-care ultrasound, regional anesthesia, resuscitation of the critically ill, and vascular emergencies. His clinical focus centers on ultrasound-guided procedures, ultrasound-based resuscitation of critically ill patients, and innovative approaches to pain management through regional anesthesia.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Slama enjoys spending time with his family, fitness and outdoor activities, hiking, and traveling.
