Physician Residencies

Doctor Barbara SimpsonBarbara Simpson, M.D.

Dr. Barbara Simpson is the Director of the OB/GYN Residency Program at Riverside Regional Medical Center. She has been Board Certified in OB/GYN since 2012. Dr. Simpson received her Doctor of Medicine Degree and completed her residency training at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. She has been in private practice in Suffolk, Virginia since 2010. She joined Riverside Regional Medical Center's OB/GYN Residency program in May of 2016 as a faculty member and became Director of the Program in March 2017. She is Board Certified by the American board of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Dr. Simpson is married and has two sons.

 

Doctor Jill HaslingJill Hasling, M.D.
Dr. Jill Hasling is an Associate Director of the OB/GYN Residency Program. Dr. Hasling received her Doctor of Medicine Degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Science Bethesda, Maryland in 1999. She completed her residency training at the Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, Hawaii in 2003. She served as Chief of the Obstetrics & Gynecology Service at the Martin Army Community Hospital for several years. She then became the Chief of the Ob/Gyn Ambulatory care Division at the Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu. She joined Riverside's OB/GYN Residency Program in November 2013. Dr. Hasling is married and has two daughters.

 

Doctor Michael McMullinParin Patel, M.D.
Dr. Parin Patel is an Associate Director of the OB/GYN Residency Program. She received her M.D. from  Drexel University. She completed her residency training at University of Texas Medical Branch. Dr. Patel has been Assistant Professor, Assistant OB/GYN Clerkship Director and Endocrine and Reproduction Course Director at The University of Texas Medical Branch.. She joined Riverside Regional Medical Center's OB/GYN Residency Program in September 2022.

 

Doctor Norma Jones-IvesNorma Jones-Ives, M.D.
Dr. Norma Jones-Ives is an Associate Director of the OB/GYN Residency Program. She received her medical degree from the University of California-Irvine, College of Medicine. Dr. Jones-Ives completed her residency at the University of California-Los Angeles. She was in Private Practice in both Los Angeles, California and Suffolk, Virginia. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Dr. Jones- Ives is married and has a son and a daughter. She joined Riverside Regional Medical Center's OB/GYN Residency Program in May 2017.

 

Doctor Jawwad KhanJawwad J. Khan, M.D.
Dr. Jawwad J. Khan is an Associate Director of the OB/GYN Residency Program. He received his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University- Medical College of Virginia. He completed his residency at Riverside Regional Medical Center. Dr. Khan has been in Private practice at Riverside Partners in Women's Health- Warwick since he graduated from Residency in 2009. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology. He joined Riverside Regional Medical Center's OB/GYN Residency Program in July of 2017. Dr. Khan is married and has two sons.

 

Doctor Karen FishDr. Karen Fish, M.D.
Dr. Karen Fish is an Associate Director of the OB/GYN Residency Program. She received her Medical Degree from Harvard University Medical Center. Dr. Fish completed her residency at Brown University's OB-GYN Residency, followed by a Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at the University of Chicago Medical Center. She was in academic practice in Chicago, Illinois for over 10 years. She is a Board Certified Obstetrics and Gynecology Physician and she joined Riverside Regional Medical Center's OB/GYN Residency Program in March of 2018.

 

Doctor William IrvinWilliam Irvin, Jr., M.D.
Dr. William Irvin, Jr. is a board certified Gynecologic Oncologist who received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Virginia in 1989. He completed his residency at the University of Virginia Hospital in 1993. After completing his residency, Dr. Irvin did a GYN-Oncology fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center in 1996. He was a professor in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Virginia from 1997 until 2005, when he joined Riverside Regional Medical Center's OB/GYN Residency Program on a part time basis. Dr. Irvin joined our residency program as a full time faculty member in 2007.
