Facial surgery

There are two types of facial surgery—reconstructive and cosmetic. An otolaryngologist surgeon or ENT is trained to perform both.

Reconstructive surgery
Reconstructive surgery is performed to correct conditions such as a cleft palate or to treat an existing disease such as cancer. Accidents, burns and trauma may create conditions that need a surgical correction.

Cosmetic surgery
Cosmetic facial plastic surgery is performed to enhance the visual appearance of the facial structures. For example, you may decide to change your appearance by having a facelift, rhinoplasty (or surgery on the nose) and liposuction.

  • Chronic sinusitis, which lasts more than 12 weeks and can continue for months or even years
  • Recurrent, with several acute attacks within a year, is also chronic sinusitis

TMJ disorders

Temporomandibular joint and muscle disorders, commonly called TMJ disorders, are a group of conditions that cause pain and dysfunction in the jaw joint and the muscles that control jaw movement. For most people, pain in the area of the jaw joint or muscles does not signal a serious problem. Some people, however, develop significant, long-term symptoms.
