At Riverside, our goal is to provide you with the best medical care available for your diabetes. Your own efforts - in what you eat, how closely you monitor your glucose, whether you smoke, and how much exercise you get - are essential to successful management of your diabetes, too.
That's why at Riverside we are committed to providing you with the tools and skills you need for effective self-management. This knowledge builds confidence and encourages you to achieve and maintain good health, which in turn helps prevent complications.
To get you started, Riverside offers exercise programs, nutrition education and diabetes community groups. Riverside Diabetes Services offers a wide range of educational opportunities provided by certified diabetes educators. Education can be in a group setting or one to one. Your family is encouraged to join you for your education opportunities at our various locations across the health system. Some require a referral from your doctor and the costs may be covered by your insurance. Ask your doctor which services are right for you.
