What does cancer care navigation provide?
A cancer diagnosis brings many questions and concerns for you and your loved ones. Suddenly you’re navigating new doctors, multiple appointments, and important treatment decisions that can feel overwhelming.
That’s exactly why we created our cancer care navigation program. Our experienced oncology nurse navigators understand the medical complexities and emotional challenges of cancer. They help you feel more informed, confident and in control throughout your cancer journey.
Cancer care navigation provides compassionate, individualized support at no cost to you.
What to expect from an oncology nurse navigator?
Your navigator works very closely with your oncologists and entire care team across all phases of your care and will:
- Guide you through the overall health system
- Answer your questions about your diagnosis and care plan
- Make sure you understand your treatment plan
- Listen carefully and respond clearly to your concerns and questions
- Coordinate referrals and other support services
- Connect you to those who specialize in practical needs like transportation assistance, insurance navigation, and financial support
- Make sure you get the specific help you need without having to figure out who to call or where to go
- Direct you to local and regional resources and support
Our cancer care nurse navigators have many years of experience in cancer care both in the clinic and hospital settings. They come to navigation with vast understanding of what cancer patients are experiencing.
