Riverside Health's Women & Infant Care Symposium

Join Riverside Health for a dynamic, interdisciplinary symposium dedicated to advancing the continuum of care for women and infants - from birth and beyond. This event brings together professionals across NICU, labor and delivery, and postpartum care to strengthen collaboration, enhance communication, and improve outcomes for both mother and baby.

Through insightful discussions and shared expertise, attendees will explore how each phase of care plays a vital role in long-term health and well-being. The symposium will also address the human side of caregiving, including strategies for recognizing and managing burnout, compassion fatigue, and secondary trauma - empowering healthcare teams to better support both their patients and themselves.

Key topics include:

  • Strengthening coordination and collaboration across care teams
  • The impact of communication and teamwork on maternal and infant health outcomes
  • Supporting caregiver well-being in high-stress clinical environments

Continuing education credit will be requested.

Virtual Childbirth Preparation Classes

Riverside is proud to offer virtual Childbirth Preparation Classes. Mom-to-be and her partner or support person can explore the many choices available to make their birth experience personal and positive.

This course includes comprehensive information on pregnancy, labor, and birth, as well as relaxation and breathing techniques, all from the safety of your home.

As the date for the new session approaches, you will receive an email with instructions on how to join virtually. This class is a series of four sessions offered on consecutive Monday evenings for two hours from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

The July series dates are 7/6, 7/13, 7/20 and 7/27.

In-Person Expectant Parents Tours

Riverside is proud to offer in-person Expectant Parent Tours on scheduled evenings and one Saturday morning each month.

During the tour, parents-to-be can preview the birthing suites and postpartum rooms in our Women and Infant Care Unit at Riverside Regional Medical Center. On the tour, you will have the opportunity to have your questions answered regarding having your baby at Riverside.

Attendance is limited to the expectant mother and 1 additional person, therefore ONLY the expectant mother needs to register for this tour. Registration will close once we have reached capacity.
