1. What is an expected salary for residents?

Salaries are reviewed annually. 2023 salaries: PGY1 $60,772, PGY2 $62,383, PGY3 $65,858

*If enrolled in Medical, Dental, Vision or other benefits they begin on the first of the month following 30 days of employment. You may want to consider an interim medical plan to bridge the gap between your employment start date and the date your Riverside medical insurance begins.

  Paid Time Off

  • PTO (Paid Time Off) plans are used for vacation, holidays and time off. Each program year the Resident receives 20 days of PTO 
  • Sick Time for Resident's own illness is 12 days each program year
  • Resident Paid Leave for approved medical, parental, and caregiver leave(s) of absence up to six (6) weeks (or 240 hours), available to use on a continuous or intermittent basis, at any time during Resident's participation in a program

  • Professional malpractice insurance paid for by Riverside Regional Medical Center, while participating in a Riverside Residency Program
  • Uniforms, certain personalized uniforms based on program year
  • One-time Moving Stipend of up to $1,000 (taxed)
  • Resident Education Fund helps to pay for books, study materials and approved devices. In year 2 and beyond it can cover certain exam fees/dues, licensure and conference/courses as approved by the Program Director and based on the availability of funds
  • Professional Membership for American College of Physicians and MKSAP
