Hospice care is about helping patients live each day with comfort, dignity and peace while surrounding their loved ones with support and compassion.

Our interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, home health aides, counselors, chaplains and volunteers is available around the clock to meet physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Across more than 5,000 square miles, Riverside Hospice serves hundreds of patients and families each day. In 2025, our average daily census grew to 357 patients and yearly admissions reached 1,828, reflecting the growing need for compassionate end-of-life care throughout the communities we serve.

Yet the true impact of hospice cannot be measured by numbers alone. It is found in quiet moments of reassurance, the comfort of being heard and care delivered with dignity, compassion and deep respect.

Made Possible Through Philanthropy

Your support helps make moments like these possible through programs funded by the Riverside Foundation, including:

  • Therapeutic massage services that provide comfort and relief for hospice patients
  • Funeral assistance for families facing financial hardship
  • Bereavement support for loved ones for up to 13 months following a loss
  • Annual memorial services that honor and celebrate lives well lived

Your generosity ensures that patients and families receive comfort, dignity and compassionate support during life’s most difficult moments. Thank you for helping families like James and Glenys find peace, connection and care when they need it most.

From the moment she entered our home, Nurse Davidsha brought more than clinical skill—she brought presence. Her visits were never hurried. She listened, responded thoughtfully and treated Glenys with the dignity and gentleness every person deserves.

When James Brown’s wife, Glenys, received Riverside Hospice care, he experienced that compassion firsthand in their home. In a note of gratitude, he shared what that care meant to their family.

He later reflected on the care his wife received: Her care is a gift we cherish deeply
