About Vihitha Thota, MD

Vihitha Thota, M.D., is a fellowship trained hematologist and oncologist. Dr. Thota has a special interest in treating gastrointestinal and lung cancers and believes in caring for the whole patient, not just the disease. She uses the latest evidence-based science and therapies to provide the best possible treatment for everyone.  Dr. Thota values shared decision-making and building trusting relationships with her patients. 

Dr. Thota earned a Bachelor of Science in neuroscience from George Mason University in Fairfax. She received her Doctor of Medicine from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. Dr. Thota completed her internal medicine residency at Mercy Catholic Medical Center in Darby, Pennsylvania, and her hematology and oncology fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Dr. Thota is board-certified in Medical Oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. 

When she is not at work, Dr. Thota enjoys spending time with her family. She appreciates the strong sense of community and enjoys exploring local restaurants and spending time by the ocean.
