About T'eria Danielle Mathews, FNP
T'eria earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Master of Science in Nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. Board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, she is the recipient of awards recognizing safety and excellence in patient care.
T'eria feels strongly about the importance of primary care in preventing a multitude of complications and hospitalizations when the patient and provider agree to work together towards better health. She often emphasizes this partnership, reminding her patients of their integral role in their care plans.
With special interests in hypertension management, weight loss and healthy eating habits, T'eria is known by all of her patients for her upbeat spirit and sense of humor. She takes great pride in watching her patients leave the office with smiles on their faces or in full-blown laughter.
A true Hampton Roads local, T'eria grew up in Newport News and graduated from Warwick High School. She was happy to return to the area, here she enjoys being near family. T'eria has a wonderfully worrisome dog named Mumbles who is a major part of her life. When he is not driving her insane, she can often be found shopping or watching a movie.
