About Stephen Dale Balka, FNP
Stephen earned an Associate of Applied Science in registered nursing from ECPI University, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati. He is board-certified as a family nurse practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board.
Stephen enjoys working in partnership with patients across the lifespan, meeting their health care needs so that they can achieve the highest quality of life. With special interests in men’s health and sports medicine, he emphasizes preventative care and attentively addresses pressing, same-day needs.
Stephen grew up in Indiana, where he played college basketball before serving in the U.S. Navy. Upon retirement, he happily settled in Hampton Roads with his wife, Amy, a Riverside physician, and their two daughters. Stephen enjoys fishing, running, reading, hiking and sports.
