About Stephanie Joy Chadwick, FNP

Stephanie J. Chadwick, FNP-BC, is a family nurse practitioner specializing in rheumatology who cares for patients with a variety of rheumatic conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA), gout, joint pain and osteoarthritis. Her background in emergency medicine and trauma fueled her passion for preventive care and health promotion.

Stephanie earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Guam in Mangilao, Guam, and a Master of Science in nursing from Old Dominion University in Norfolk. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Stephanie provides patient-centered care and takes pride in treating the whole person, not just their symptoms. She is passionate about disease prevention and promoting long-term wellness. Stephanie partners with patients and empowers them with the knowledge and tools needed to play an active role in their health.

Originally from upstate South Carolina, Stephanie enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and dog. Stephanie appreciates the caring community and beauty of coastal Virginia.

I am so grateful for Stephanie.Ehlers Danlos can be really hard to deal with having a provider like her who doesn't just listen but she educates me. She's compassionate she's understanding and I believe in my heart that she genuinely wants the best care for me and that is a breath of fresh air she is a true blessing. In addition, she's really wonderful about making me feel like I'm part of my care journey instead of dictating to me. What's gonna happen with my health. Having agency in the decisions that are made about your body when dealing with a medical professional is something that you don't find these days anymore. She strikes an excellent balance between being a professional and providing her guidance and allowing you to own your care journey.

At every point of discussion she asked questions that showed her knowledge of her own field as well as her understanding of the Interaction of other fields in the causing, exacerbating, and/or healing process. Stephanie quickly recognized there might be an issue with diagnosis of eye inflammation & medication. After receiving the I formation needed she promptly contacted me to discuss my options in changes to my meds.

Stephanie was a wealth of information and able to set forth a treatment plan for me. I was expecting more tests ( of which I have had many) but Stephanie asked all the right questions in order to diagnose my health issue and prepare a plan that would get me off the prednisone that I have been taking to moderate my pain. I feel optimistic about normalization for the first time since the onset of my B symptoms and pain

Stephanie is amazing! She is the best provider that I see. She includes me in decisions and listens to my concerns. She explains things until I understand and gives me information about things to help me to be comfortable with treatments and diagnoses. She is great! Give her a raise so she won't leave.

She took her time to listen to everything that I had been experiencing over the past few years. She did additional in office assessment and explain things very thoroughly. She wanted to pinpoint additional things that may be going on with me and my auto immune issues so she ordered more tests. I highly recommend her and even though she is only at the Williamsburg location, I rescheduled with her because she was so wonderful.

I have only had a few visits with Stephanie but I have complete trust in her. She always answers all of my questions and explains everything in a way that I understand. I am so glad I found her. She even straightened out my meds. Per a previous doctor's prescription I was taking too much folic acid. I'm grateful she corrected it!
