About Stephanie Joy Chadwick, FNP

Stephanie J. Chadwick, FNP-BC, is a family nurse practitioner specializing in rheumatology who cares for patients with a variety of rheumatic conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA), gout, joint pain and osteoarthritis. Her background in emergency medicine and trauma fueled her passion for preventive care and health promotion.  

Stephanie earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Guam in Mangilao, Guam, and a Master of Science in nursing from Old Dominion University in Norfolk. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).  

Stephanie provides patient-centered care and takes pride in treating the whole person, not just their symptoms. She is passionate about disease prevention and promoting long-term wellness. Stephanie partners with patients and empowers them with the knowledge and tools needed to play an active role in their health. 

Originally from upstate South Carolina, Stephanie enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and dog. Stephanie appreciates the caring community and beauty of coastal Virginia.

One of the best care providers i've ever had. When asked by my pcp I always recommend her. Gives plenty of time to explain conditions or medications. Talks you through all medical decisions she suggests. As well as being very responsive to any concerns I had. As well as always reassures and offers if something feels off after the appointment that I can always reach out on my chart for any questions or sooner appointments. During my time seeing her she has been such a big help in reducing pain and discomforts caused by symptoms from conditions. Truly a doctor who wants the best and cares about her patients and loves her job.

After 20 years with my prior Rheumatologist, I was conerned about starting over with a new provider. Stephanie immediately put me at ease.
