About Stephanie Joy Chadwick, FNP

Stephanie J. Chadwick, FNP-BC, is a family nurse practitioner specializing in rheumatology who cares for patients with a variety of rheumatic conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA), gout, joint pain and osteoarthritis. Her background in emergency medicine and trauma fueled her passion for preventive care and health promotion.

Stephanie earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Guam in Mangilao, Guam, and a Master of Science in nursing from Old Dominion University in Norfolk. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Stephanie provides patient-centered care and takes pride in treating the whole person, not just their symptoms. She is passionate about disease prevention and promoting long-term wellness. Stephanie partners with patients and empowers them with the knowledge and tools needed to play an active role in their health.

Originally from upstate South Carolina, Stephanie enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and dog. Stephanie appreciates the caring community and beauty of coastal Virginia.

Stephanie was beyond excellent she showed care and kindness and went above and beyond to take time to explain what to do to help my condition. For many years I've been going to doctors with the same complaints without ever getting to the root of the problem. In 1 appointment Stephanie diagnosed my condition and I feel so much better now knowing what has been happening with my body for the last51 years.

Stephanie is the best doctor, in general, that I have ever seen. She understands her patients especially like me with EDS and doesn't minimize or brush off symptoms that have been concerning me. She educated us a lot during the visit and recommended a phenomenal book that helping us understand this diagnosis. She is phenomenal.

She was amazing a breath of fresh air compared to other Doctors in this very location. Very attentive educating and felt heard and the professional care about me the patient. All while being quick and to the point and also gave other means of educational material. Definitely will be bringing my sons and referring anyone that I know needs a rheumatologist.

Stephanie demonstrated in every way that she was ready for my visit by having looked at my records beforehand. She explained with documentation, previous tests and care I had been given, and took the time to make sure I could understand and recognize my condition and how I could care for myself better. She is a rare healthcare provider. In fact, I think she is amazing!

Stephanie was amazing. For the first time in years, I left an appt and felt like I was actually listened to. She spent time listening to my concerns and explained everything to me. She even wrote out the instructions for the medications she prescribed so I could remember when to take all of them, and provided me with a website to learn more about one of my diagnosis's.
