About Scott Fredric Reed, MD

Dr. Reed earned his medical degree from the Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia before completing a general surgery residency at York Hospital. He completed fellowship training in surgical critical care/trauma at Eastern Virginia Medical School. Dr. Reed is board certified in general surgery and surgical critical care by the American Board of Surgery.

An expert in trauma, critical care and general surgery, Dr. Reed embraces the broad variety of cases presented within these specialties, along with the challenge of fast-paced planning and strategy. He is a skilled educator, widely published in national medical journals, with more than a decade of clinical teaching experience at Eastern Virginia Medical School, numerous visiting lectures, and even the invention of a curved thoracostomy tube placement device.

Originally from Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, Dr. Reed is a fan of all things Pittsburgh. He and his wife of 20 plus years have three children.
