About Noreen Chioma Okwara, MD

Noreen C. Okwara, M.D., is a fellowship-trained gastroenterologist and hepatologist, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of complex digestive and liver conditions. Dr. Okwara cares for patients with a wide range of concerns from acute conditions such as bleeding ulcers to chronic conditions, like inflammatory bowel disease and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.  

Dr. Okwara earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Massachusetts in Boston. She completed a Doctor of Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, Massachusetts. Her residency training was completed at the Brigham and Women’s Internal Medicine Residency Program in Boston. While in Boston, she completed a gastroenterology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital.   

Dr. Okwara takes a whole-person approach, partnering with each patient to improve their health and well-being. She believes in shared decision-making and working together to develop a personalized care plan.  

Outside of work, Dr. Okwara enjoys exploring the culture and offerings in our community.
