About Meghan Whitlatch, MD

Meghan A. Whitlatch, M.D., is a general surgeon who performs a broad spectrum of general surgery procedures with particular interests in hernia repair, gallbladder removal, wound care and surgeries of the small bowel, colon, breast, skin and soft tissue. She pairs team-based care with meticulous surgical techniques for procedures that improve her patients’ quality of life. 

Dr. Whitlatch earned a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry and a Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She completed her Doctor of Medicine at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, followed by a general surgery residency at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth.   

Providing a positive and safe surgical experience is important to Dr. Whitlatch, beginning at the preoperative consultation all the way through the postoperative evaluation. Her philosophy is to treat patients like family. She listens, explains options in plain language and recommends what she would want for her own loved ones. 

Outside of work, Dr. Whitlatch enjoys spending time with her family and pets. Originally from North Carolina, she loves the welcoming community.
