About Mark Edward Souther, MD

 

Dr. Souther earned his medical degree from the University of Missouri Columbia School of Medicine in 1990. He completed internal medicine residency training with A.B. Chandler Medical Center and the University of Kentucky. Dr. Souther is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

In practice with Riverside since 1994, Dr. Souther is an experienced internist who specializes in the prevention, detection and treatment of illnesses in adults. He is trained to manage particularly complex and multi-system disease conditions, including both acute and chronic illness. Dr. Souther’s medical philosophy is to not only look for illness, but also to ultimately find good health for his patients.

Born and raised in Fairfax, Virginia, Dr. Souther enjoys the water and historic areas of Hampton Roads, as well being just a short distance from mountains and large cities. He spends his free time boating, fishing, growing oysters, golfing and participating in church activities. Dr. Souther and his wife have three children.
