About Julia Elizabeth Turney, FNP

Julia E. Turney, a board-certified family nurse practitioner, is a dedicated cancer care provider. She earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing and a Master of Science in family practice nurse practitioner, both from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. She is certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Julia also completed a one-year nursing residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Shadyside School of Nursing and completed an evidence-based practice project on nutrition for oncology and surgical patients.

Having worked for four years in oncology as a registered nurse, Julia chose to continue her focus on cancer care as a nurse practitioner. She believes every patient knows themselves better than anyone else and works with each person to determine the best care decisions for their journey. With that in mind, listening to patients and keeping them involved in their treatment allows her to help them navigate their cancer diagnosis in a way that works best for them.

After growing up in Pennsylvania, Julia appreciates being near the beach and the warmer weather in Hampton Roads. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends and loves traveling to new places.
