With several awards, publications, and certifications to her name, Jamie is a Certified Nurse Midwife with a long track record of nursing excellence. Certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board, she has more than 13 years of experience caring for mothers and babies in various settings—from high-risk units to natural birth centers to cesarean operating rooms. Jamie holds a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Texas Christian University, a Master of Science in nurse-midwifery from the University of Colorado and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Frontier Nursing University in Kentucky.

Before joining Riverside, Jamie served in the United States Air Force as a Certified Nurse Midwife. In addition to managing a multidisciplinary healthcare team and caring for patients, she helped develop and support nursing students and residents as perinatal course director and preceptor. Jami was also responsible for driving process improvements as an officer of the U.S. Air Force Nursing Corps.

Jamie regards midwifery as a precious artform and feels privileged to be part of each patient's journey through pregnancy, birth and postpartum. Her passion extends from practicing nursing to teaching it; she served as a program instructor for the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses and the American Academy of Pediatrics. A prolific researcher, she has led or contributed to more than six original publications ranging in topic from suicide prevention in the military to obesity during pregnancy.

A mother of three herself, Jamie and her family lead an active lifestyle. When she isn't training for marathons, hiking, or strength training, she enjoys reading, crafting, and spending quality time with her kids, husband, and cat, Ramsey.
