About Erin Jacey Hercules, MD
Erin J. Hercules, M.D. is an internal medicine physician who provides comprehensive primary care for adults with an emphasis on prevention and coordinated care across settings. She cares for a broad range of adult health needs, including preventive care and the management of chronic and medically complex conditions including hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia and chronic kidney disease.
Dr. Hercules earned her Bachelor of Science from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, a Master of Business Administration from the Howard School of Business in Washington, D.C. and her Doctor of Medicine from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C. She completed her internal medicine residency at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina, where she trained extensively in both inpatient and outpatient internal medicine.
Getting to know her patients is central to Dr. Hercules’ practice. She listens carefully, answers questions clearly and partners with patients in their care. She looks at the big picture of a patient’s health, connects medical details and helps them make informed decisions for long-term wellbeing. Her hospital-based training continues to shape her approach to primary care in how she manages complexity, coordinates care and supports her patients when navigating transitions after hospitalization.
Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling and being with her family.
