About David V Cary, PA-C

David is a board-certified physician assistant with more than 20 years of clinical experience. He earned his Master of Science at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk and a bachelor's degree in sociology from William & Mary in Williamsburg.

Before joining Riverside, David cared for patients in emergency rooms and urgent care centers in Virginia and communities across the eastern U.S., including Atlanta, Florida and upstate New York. He has also trained aspiring health care providers as a faculty member, preceptor and guest lecturer at several medical schools.

A prolific researcher and medical writer, David has authored or contributed to many studies and publications; his work ranges in topic from Achilles tendon ruptures to pancreatic trauma in adults and children.

David transitioned to family medicine to spend more time in the office with patients and provide continuity of care. With an approachable manner, David strives to always listen carefully to patients' concerns and advocate for their best interests. He treats many chronic conditions including hypertension, bone-joint disorders, hypercholesterolemia (high cholesterol) and metabolic disorders. Born in Williamsburg, David loves his children who are true to his heart. In his spare time, David enjoys walking, cooking and grilling.
