Cathy joined Riverside Cancer Specialists of Tidewater for the rewarding opportunity to improve oncology patients’ lives, approaching each day “with an open mind and an open heart.” Board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, she brings years of compassionate leadership to the practice. Cathy strives for individual, holistic care that balances physical and mental wellbeing and considers each patient’s values and beliefs.

She has 13 years of experience within Riverside Health System, progressing from registered nurse to charge nurse and nursing supervisor. Highly skilled in cardiac care and PICC procedures, she holds certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

Her lifelong dedication to service dates back to her time in the U.S. Navy, where she served in the Persian Gulf War and received a Liberation of Kuwait Medal. After serving for 10 years, she opted to pursue a nursing degree for the opportunity to continue making a difference. She earned her RN diploma from Riverside School of Health Careers before earning a Bachelor of Science in nursing at Chamberlain University and Master of Science in nursing at Walden University.

Married for 27 years, Cathy and her husband have two sons, a daughter and two grandchildren. Outside of nursing, she enjoys morning devotionals with her husband, baking with family and simply soaking in the time with her grandchildren as they grow and play.
