Ear, Nose and Throat

Dr. Correia is an award-winning, fellowship-trained otolaryngologist (ear, nose and throat physician) and head and neck surgeon skilled in advanced surgical techniques. She completed undergraduate school at Yale University in New Haven, CT, and earned her medical degree from the University of Chicago. Throughout her academic career, she was awarded several coveted prizes and honors for academic excellence, leadership, and research accomplishments.

After her residency and a medical ethics fellowship at the University of Chicago, Dr. Correia completed a Head and Neck Oncological and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at Northwestern University's McGaw Medical Center in Chicago. At Northwestern, she also served as a Department of Otolaryngology instructor. She has led or contributed to more than a dozen research studies, publications and presentations.

Dr. Correia specializes in performing advanced head and neck cancer surgeries, microsurgical reconstruction, salivary gland surgery, endoscopic procedures, and the treatment of thyroid and parathyroid conditions.  She also has completed training to perform transoral robotic surgery for oropharyngeal tumors.

Passionate about improving the quality of life for patients suffering from head and neck cancers and other conditions, Dr. Correia also entered the field of otolaryngology for the opportunity to care for patients from all ages and backgrounds. She believes that creating a human connection with her patients is key to healing, and hopes to earn and keep patients' trust every day of her career.  Dr. Correia is fluent in Spanish. 

Born and raised in Newport News, Dr. Correia has been interested in medicine since her youth; in high school, she once shadowed at Riverside Regional Medical Center. She is happy to return to the area, where she enjoys the wildlife, water and interesting history. Married with two children, she also likes cooking, reading and spending time outdoors with family.
