About Angela Auring Rivera, AGPCNP

Board-certified adult nurse practitioner Angela A. Rivera, NP-C, treats Riverside’s orthopedic joint replacement patients. Angela earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing at Old Dominion University and a Master of Science in nursing, adult primary care, at Virginia Commonwealth University. She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

After years of caring for cardiac patients, Angela changed focus to orthopedic surgery. She believes in providing competent, compassionate, holistic care to patients. Angela appreciates the challenges these patients face and admires their willingness to trust in the Riverside team and work hard to recover after surgery. After building that trusting relationship, Angela helps educate patients to achieve their health goals. She feels that helping patients through their joint replacement journey is a gratifying process.

Angela is married to an active-duty Navy officer. They have three children. She grew up in Virginia Beach and enjoys spending time with her extended family in Hampton Roads. Visiting local beaches, hiking in national parks and exploring nature trails are some of her favorite local activities. Angela also enjoys cooking and gardening.
